Sorry Film not Ready
2011 / 1 min.
Written, directed and animated by Janet Perlman
Music by Judith Gruber-Stitzer.
This film was made by accident using experimental animation invisible to the naked eye.
At least that's what I stated on the entry form for Ottawa Animation Festival for a film that didn’t exist. I hastily began making an experimental film, but soon gave up on it. When I tried to withdraw my entry form, it was not possible, so I wrote “Sorry Film not Ready” as the title of the film. A week later I was notified by the festival that they had not yet received my “film Sorry Film Not Ready", but that the deadline had been extended by one week. So I had to make that film after all, and it was accepted into the festival.

The Nose
2009 / 2 mins. 30 secs.
Written, directed and animated by Janet Perlman

Inspired by the satirical 1836 story by Nikolai Gogol about an official whose nose leaves his face and takes on a life of its own, eventually becoming a high-ranking official. In this version, the Nose just goes around sniffing stuff.
The Nose is accompanied by scratch and sniff cards, although in this case you will just have to imagine the scents the Nose is experiencing.
Here is the card that accompanies the film.
